About Artigiano Espresso & Wine Bars
A Joint Venture Partnership with Artigiano
We have designed and developed a business system, which is intended to ensure a long-term relationship between you and us. We have many years experience in this type of business relationship, both from the side of the franchisor and the franchisee, so we fully understand the concerns and aspirations of both parties.
Many franchise models put all the risk, expense and responsibility onto the shoulders of the franchisee. We think that is fundamentally unfair. Any JVP outlet that we open is based on a relationship between Artigiano and our business partner.
We think that the risks and set up costs, as well as the benefits, should be shared between us. This ensures that we are totally committed to the business in all aspects.
Artigiano will be responsible for:
- Holding the lease on the property
- Property layout and design
- Maintaining management accounts
- Sourcing of products
- Payment of suppliers
- Payroll
- Advertising & Marketing
- Insurance
- IT systems
- Banking
- Legal aspects
- VAT returns
- Corporation tax returns
- The JVP will be responsible for:
- Management and recruitment of staff
- Customer service
- Implementation and maintenance of service standards
- Cost control
- General day to day management
Artigiano will receive a management fee based on sales. The JVP will receive a salary and all distributable profits. Each joint venture espresso and wine bar will be set up as a limited company (Artigiano (Town) Limited). Each company will have two classes of shares, A shares and B shares. There will be an equal number of A and B shares. The A shares will be owned by Artigiano and the B shares will be own by the joint venture partner. Thus, the business will be owned 50% by Artigiano and 50% by the JVP.
The Artigiano Brand
Although there are many coffee shops that already exist, Artigiano has developed a format and brand that sets it apart from almost all of its competitors:
Unlike all the major chains (Starbucks, Costa Coffee, Café Nero, Coffee Number One, Harris and Hoole etc.) Artigiano is independent and this, in itself, has very strong consumer appeal.
The shop fit, design, branding and furniture are high quality and give a very desirable ambience.
A great deal of attention is paid to the coffee and the baristas who make the coffee. Artigiano has received numerous recommendations in London magazines for the quality of its coffee. One of Artigiano’s baristas respresented the UK in the 2014 World Latte Art Championships in Melbourne, Australia.
In the evening, Artigiano undergoes a number of changes to become an upmarket wine bar serving fine wines, craft beers, cocktails and nibbles.
Why have a Joint Venture business with Artigiano?
A Joint Venture relationship with us will help you get your business off the ground with a relatively small financial input, a successful brand and with a partner that has the business knowledge and experience to make it a huge success.
At the beginning of the relationship we will put in the same amount of money as you, so that we both share the risk. Not only does this make owning your own business much more affordable, but it should give you the comfort of knowing that we really are “in it together”.
In short, we are here to work with you and help you to develop your business (and hopefully, additional future businesses
What qualities are we looking for in you?
As described earlier, we take a huge amount of the administrative and financial workload off your hands. This is important because the most valuable contribution from our partners is to focus on the day-to-day management of the business.
