London’s free to visit International Franchise Show

Individuals looking to start a new business often consider franchising as an option. With franchises operating in almost every industry you can think of, the options are limitless.

It can therefore be difficult to decide which franchise to invest in. You can ensure that buying a franchise is a positive investment by doing your research before making a commitment.

A franchise exhibition is the shop window of the market, providing an opportunity to meet face to face with franchisors and discuss options.

The International Franchise Show, which takes place at ExCeL London on April 5-6, is a free to attend exhibition where you can conduct a year’s worth of market research in two days. The event brings together over 180 industry leading franchisors, putting visitors face to face with global brands, allowing them to discuss opportunities and ask questions.

The show also gives prospective franchisees the opportunity to gain access to expert guidance, personal advice, interactive features and one to one networking opportunities.

Speaker features

The International Franchise Show has a world class speaker line-up, with the 2019 schedule featuring the likes of Ryan Smolkin of Smoke’s Poutinerie and Gaurav Marya from Franglobal.

Seminars cover a wide range of topics for both franchisors and franchisees, with talks exploring how to successfully expand your business through franchising to the ‘A to Zs’ of buying a franchise.

All seminars are free to attend and aim to give you a valuable insight into every aspect of franchising.

New for 2019

As part of the celebrations for the show’s 10-year anniversary, there will also be an area dedicated to headline supporter Google Digital Garage. This zone will feature three unique and interactive workshops, led by an expert Google Digital Garage trainer.

On each day of the exhibition Ian Thomas will take you through the ins and outs of social media strategies, digital advertising and how to build a digital marketing plan. These sessions aim to show visitors the most effective ways to achieve their business goals through online marketing

Who can I expect to meet?

With over 180 exhibitors, the International Franchise Show has Britain’s biggest selection of UKbased and international franchise opportunities.

You will be able to meet companies such as Smoke’s Poutinerie, Chemex, Warrens Bakery, Tutor Doctor, FASTSIGNS and Dickey’s Barbeque Pit. Alongside these major franchisors will be a variety of lower investment franchise opportunities, which may better suit your business plans.

If you are interested in speaking to a specific company at the show, you can pre-book a one to one appointment to discuss your options.

You are also able to pre-book a place at a variety of masterclasses, which will give you access to exclusive master licence opportunities from leading international brands looking to expand into the UK market. These sessions will deliver everything you need to know about these high investment, high return concepts.

Next steps

Whether you’re a franchise first-timer or an experienced business owner looking to become a globally recognised brand, this event is guaranteed to provide you with a complete tool kit of education and resources, so that you can move forward and begin your new venture.

5 benefits of franchising

If you’re debating whether a franchise is a valuable investment, here are some key benefits of becoming a franchisee:

  • Become your own boss. You can manage the schedule and run the show, running your own unit.
  • Minimise the risk of failure. Buying a franchise gives you access to a systemised, proven formula, as well as a wealth of experience to draw on to help guide you through the process. This means you avoid many of the setbacks and hurdles independent start-ups often face.
  • Brand power. You can start your business with a brand name that customers already recognise.
  • Access to innovation. Research and investment in technology and systems are key elements of business, which a good franchisor will undertake. The aim of this investment is to boost franchisees’ businesses through improvements in efficiencies, communications and competitive advantage.
  • A higher chance of success. The bottom line is that a franchise is more likely to succeed than an independent start-up. The commercial failure rate of a franchised business is less than 10 per cent, with 60 per cent of franchised units turning over more than £250,000.
