Karen Kelly established her own domestic cleaning company, called Cleanhome, in the Thames Valley in 2010 and within 23 months’ turnover had reached £72,319 - 80 per cent of which was profit.

Coming from a corporate background, and having worked at a senior level within Disney and Virgin Atlantic, Kelly set up the business because she wanted a better work-life balance.

Having run her own business successfully for a time, she decided to make the move to franchise the company in 2012 and has brought her corporate experience into the business, meaning Cleanhome has a strong focus on training, support, and adding value to cleaning concerns.

How does the Cleanhome franchise model work?

 
Kelly and her team want to help people realise their dream of building and owning their own cleaning business franchises and are looking for enthusiastic and ambitious people who want to invest in their future.

The two levels of investment are £7,995 and £9,995 (plus VAT). Both include a comprehensive training programme, bespoke Genesys business software, ongoing training and support, stationery, marketing, insurance, and a Google starter campaign.

The higher level investment package includes a Royal Mail marketing campaign worth £2,500.

A franchisee will be expected to provide their own phone, computer and printer. The fee for Genesys software hosting is £8.50 per month.

What locations or territories is Cleanhome looking to operate in?

Territories are available nationwide. Each territory has a minimum of 100,000 households, with a potential 45,000 households in the Cleanhome target market.

To put that in context, approximately 300 households would create a turnover of £85,000, of which approximately £70,000 is profit.
