There are three tiers of GroutGleam franchise opportunity to choose from – Approved Technician, Business Developer and Area Director.
An Approved Technician is a hands-on operator covering a single territory, and requires £3,500 +VAT in start up fees, plus £195 per month management fee. The Business Developer package is for
GroutGleam franchisees wishing to be both a hands-on and management operator, covering a double territory for £5,250 +VAT plus £270 per month management fee, while the Area Director is a team management operator covering a triple size territory for a £7,000 +VAT GroutGleam franchise fee plus £345 per month management fee.
GroutGleam franchise owners do not pay monthly fees for their first two months of business, and the start up costs have been kept deliberately low to launch the business, so may rise for franchisees joining in the future.
GroutGleam actively encourage interested parties to apply for funding through the UK Government’s Start-Up scheme. GroutGleam are easily able to secure loans of up to £5,000 which can be used to cover the initial GroutGleam franchise fee along with extra stock, working capital and VAT. Loans for over £5,000 are also possible, though they take longer to process.
The government start-up loan is a popular and cost effective choice as there are no additional set up or early redemption fees, and the interest rate is deliberately competitive to assist new business owners. The first three months repayments are interest only (£25 on a £5,000 loan) and loans run over a five year period to keep monthly costs down (£102 per month).
The GroutGleam franchise fee includes a generous starter package with enough stock to recover the initial investment, along with demonstration cases (one per territory covered), training and certification and a consumer website. GroutGleam franchisees are also offered ongoing support with enquiry management, intelligent email engagement and social media, from an initial new business launch campaign to a more long term targeted approach.
Approved Technicians operating a single territory can expect to earn around £1,000 per week. The earnings of Business Developers and Area Directors will be more, depending on the size of their territory and how many technicians they employ. Promotional pricing and economies of scale ensure that potential earnings are significant.
No, GroutGleam franchise owners don’t require a particular skill set as they will be fully trained in the use of the GroutGleam product set and offered ongoing support as needed, though they may need a little practise!

GroutGleam franchisees do not need to invest in an office or van, as the equipment used is small enough to fit in a standard car boot. Franchisees can store the products at home, saving money on overheads.
Yes. Each GroutGleam franchise territory includes 25,000 ABC1 households and is exclusive to the franchise owner. Franchisees can cover more than one area, and GroutGleam offer financial incentives to do just that by bundling two or three territories together for a reduced price.
GroutGleam franchising was only launched in 2018, so most territories are still currently unclaimed and they are happy to discuss the available options. GroutGleam see their early adopters as ‘pioneers’ and are able to be flexible about securing their preferred locations, though in future they hope to reach 120 technicians.
GroutGleam is a new franchise opportunity that solves a genuine problem, and one that currently has very little competition. The GroutGleam team are keen to meet every applicant before accepting them to the franchise and taking a ten per cent deposit to secure their preferred territory. A contract is then produced, and once the GroutGleam franchise agreement has been signed, the balance of fees will be taken and the training package will be booked. The timescale for starting up a new GroutGleam franchise is around two to four weeks, though applicants requiring funding may need five to seven weeks’ lead time.
