The WSI franchise appeals to professional businessmen and women from all backgrounds, particularly sales, marketing and consultancy. On joining WSI, new internet consultants (ICs) will learn about internet marketing and the WSI systems, starting with an intensive e-learning and distance coaching course and culminating in an extended week in Toronto where the initial education process is completed.
Once the IC is ready to start their business, WSI will assign a ‘Quick Start Coach’ to help them get off the ground and answer any questions they have about internet marketing or the WSI system. They will also be introduced to either the area rep or regional master franchisor for their area, who will help them identify mentors and keep them informed about the company’s ongoing regional training programme.
WSI franchisees are first and foremost consultants. They, with the help of the WSI system, identify client needs, whether that be website assistance, search engine campaigns, mobile technologies, social media, email or ongoing training and consultancy. In each case, WSI consultants can choose to deliver the internet marketing solution themselves or use WSI’s internal E-market place of trusted suppliers.
The E-market place comprises a group of tied production companies and leading authorised suppliers that work for WSI at highly discounted rates. The suppliers offer support, advice and in some cases training in their own products and services, so that the WSI consultant is seen as knowledgeable and professional.
There is a great deal of flexibility in the way WSI ICs can structure their businesses. They can choose to be sole traders, an agency employing local staff, a multi-office franchise or a generalist and perform all roles. They can also employ others, deliver the services themselves or utilise the WSI E-market place. The franchise can be treated as a lifestyle business or as an ambitious project to develop a regional business.
The life of a WSI IC is both varied and interesting. Typically serving medium sized businesses, local consultants meet with customers and prospects from their region to understand their companies and analyse their needs.
