Husband and wife team grow turnover to £2 million and double workforce
Rob and Sam Simpson, who bought Drain Doctor Anglia in 2009, are celebrating 10 years in business, during which time they’ve built a £2-million-a-year franchise, doubled its workforce and relocated to larger, state-of-the-art premises.
Covering six territories, Drain Doctor Anglia provides emergency plumbing, drain unblocking and drain repair services to domestic and commercial customers in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Kent and south east London.

Rob, who along with Sam, won Drain Doctor’s Franchisee of the Year award in 2018, says: “In 10 years we have achieved a huge amount of growth and success and we’re immensely proud of the business we have built.
“Today we have 15 skilled and qualified technicians out on the road dealing directly with customers and seven support staff who are the day-to-day operations behind the business, providing a best-in-class service to our customers, some of whom have been with us throughout this decade.
“Our revenues have grown significantly over the years and last year alone we reached our biggest turnover of £2 million, which is testament to the great team we have in place.
“2018 was a year of expansion for Drain Doctor Anglia and 2019 has proved to be equally strong for the business. Our code of values and company ethos stands central around integrity and honesty and this has enabled us to provide superior customer service for every job we carry out.
“It has been an incredible journey so far and the next 10 years are going to be as exciting for us both personally and professionally.”
Rob and Sam’s business is part of a national franchise network of around 57 Drain Doctor locations in the UK.
