UK and Ireland members covered over 32,000km – more than 767 London Marathons

With the London Marathon start line getting ever closer, Anytime Fitness has already completed it 767 times. On Wednesday, 22 September, National Fitness Day, the franchise challenged its local clubs across the UK and Ireland to run, row, cycle and climb the equivalent of the UK and Ireland coastline. Between them they accomplished the challenge in some style, covering a staggering 32,312km.

With physical activity increasing by 43 per cent and football by 15 per cent in comparison to an ordinary Wednesday, it’s clear franchises made a special effort.

CEO of Anytime Fitness, Neil Randall, loved seeing people get active. Special praise should go to the Ringwood, Ferndown and Daventry clubs, each completing over 1000km.

He said: “They all played their part in helping people get active in their local communities, some of which were setting foot in a health club for the first time. It was great to see the healthy competition between the clubs and celebrate the importance of being active as part of our overall health.”

2021 marked the 10th anniversary of National Fitness Day, an annual event by ukactive to celebrate the inclusivity of physical activity.
