A high street franchise is defying the economic downturn by recording rising growth in its first year of trading.

Thanks to inspirational franchisee Roy Mathisen and the substantial savings he’s offering his growing customer base, his Workington Cartridge World store’s turnover has increased month on month, and in November 2009 recorded an impressive 442 per cent increase in turnover compared to the same month in the previous year.

The store refills all major brands of inkjet and laser printer cartridges, as well as supplying an extensive range of printers, paper, fax supplies and other peripherals. Cartridge World Workington also offers a free collection and delivery service to local businesses.

“The business and marketing support provided by Cartridge World has given me the confidence to go for it and create my own business,” says Mathisen. “I have managed to develop a good base of domestic and business customers in the area. Sales have gone from strength to strength, thanks to the excellent savings and high quality products we are able to offer, especially at a time when everyone is looking for best value.

“The recession has opened doors for us, as everyone is looking for the most cost-effective supplies, and we strive to ensure that our customers get the very best value for money. The cost of the original manufacturer’s replacement cartridges has risen dramatically, and by choosing Cartridge World customers can make substantial savings.”
