Trade association announces partnership with UK Futures

The British Franchise Association has entered into a partnership with UK Futures to support the government-led Kickstart Scheme.

The collaboration will help people aged 16-25 find work in the franchise industry.

Currently, around 710,000 people are employed in the UK franchise sector, which contributes £17.2 billion to the economy.

The scheme, open to all bfa members, provides funding to employers to create new six-month job placements for young people who are currently on Universal Credit.

Funding for each job placement covers 100 per cent of the relevant national minimum wage for 25 hours a week, the associated employer national insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions.

Additional funding of £1,500 is available to help young people build on their experience and assist them to move into sustained employment after they’ve completed their Kickstart Scheme funded job.

David Ward from UK Futures will act as the bfa’s intermediary with the Department for Work and Pensions.

Companies should log into the member area of the bfa website for more information.
