Nigel Toplis, managing director of multi-brand franchisor The Bardon Group, is seeking donations for his latest charity challenge - trekking to Machu Picchu, the Incan citadel in Peru’s Andes Mountains.

He has raised over £60,000 for the national UK charity for sick children over the years.

On behalf of Well Child, Nigel’s climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, walked the Sahara desert, trekked across Sumatra and cycled 540km from Hi Chi Minh City in Vietnam to Angkor Wat in Cambodia.

His latest expedition is planned for April and so far he’s raised over £7,000.

Nigel says: “You’ll be pleased to note that I have been putting in some serious training, including trekking 9-10 kilometres carrying a backpack with 11 kilos in weight in 33-36 degree heat three times a week, plus pilates twice a week and walking over 90,000 steps a week.

“Hopefully I’ll be in reasonable shape for an oldie to do myself justice.”
