Dog lovers can now turn their passion for pets into pounds with this franchise

Aiming to care for the nation’s nine million estimated dogs, MyWaggyTails is offering up its petcare business-in-a-box model to franchisees.

Founded by marketeer and business consultant Randle Stonier, MyWaggyTails was inspired by his sister Mitch Howey. Keen to have a job that allowed her to work around her family life, Howey set up her own dog-care business MyWaggyTails Chinnor in March 2017. After five months of operating, she knew the business could do better so she turned to her brother for support.

Stonier overhauled her brand, website, messaging, promotion, digital marketing and operational processes. Fast-forward 18 months and Howey begged Stonier to stop promoting her business as she couldn’t cope with the demand. However, she did ask him if he’d help her prepare for the new licensing regulations and audit. Stonier’s assistance led to Howey receiving a five-star rating and being granted a home boarding license for 10 dogs, along with a wealth of five-star customer reviews on Google, Facebook and Yell.

Inspired by his sister’s success, Stonier decided to bottle up and share their pet business know-how to help others start and grow their own dog business and provide a range of petcare services through MyWaggyTails.

Stonier said: “Propelled by the success of my sister Mitch’s business, MyWaggyTails offers a dog-focused ‘business in a box’, with three, affordable fixed price options to choose from, with three levels of service to help would-be pet entrepreneurs choose what works for them and their finances. Our franchise options enable individuals to get their business going quickly, with the aid of the MyWaggyTails brand, expertise, training blueprint, marketing skills, operational know-how and processes. We minimise the risk of failure which increases the chances of success. We are excited to introduce our competitively-priced, dog franchise portfolio to both the petcare and franchise sector.

MyWaggyTails offers three dog-care franchise options. The Dog Walking franchise, including pet sitting and home visits, is the lowest commitment at £1,999 followed by the Home Boarding franchise, priced at £4,999. The Doggy Day-Care package takes petcare to a grander scale, building a business from rural land or a sub-urban, industrial unit. With a buy-in price of £9,999, this extended services franchise offer covers everything from play, exercise, interactive games, training, agility through to grooming and spa treatments. After the initial investment, a flat subscription fee or percentage charge kicks in from month seven, based on the franchise chosen.
