The company has set the Guinness World Record for the largest simultaneous performance of one show, after 12,500 students at 73 international schools performed Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Junior.

The achievement is being celebrated by franchisees around the world, following official confirmation from the Guinness World Record team.

The shows in the UK, Germany and Canada took place at 6pm British Summer Time on July 1, 2018.

As part of Stagecoach’s 30th anniversary celebrations, franchisees were encouraged to take part in the hope of breaking the company’s own record of 66 performances of Glad Rags, set in 2008 and commemorating the company’s 20th anniversary.

Sarah Kelly, CEO of Stagecoach, says: “We’re over the moon to have secured the world record, once again - what an incredible way to commemorate our 30th year.

“We couldn’t have done this without the fantastic support of our franchise network, who did a phenomenal job of working with our in-house events team to plan their own performances.”
