Andrew Gunner is the main franchisee; along with dad John, who originally founded the well-established salon at 92b Station Road in the Surrey town, and mum Jane who runs the front of house.

Gunner said: “As an independent, we had a lot to juggle and we’d spotted a Saks Facebook message for salon owners which advised that collaborating with Saks could be a way to take their businesses forward. The time was right for a change within our ownership structure, so we got in touch, heard what they had to offer, and the rest is history!
“Ultimately we chose Saks for their reputation, their industry-leading training and because they not only provide business, finance and marketing support but also invaluable and practical hands-on help. From setting up and updating salons’ websites to posting great content to salons’ social media pages. We did our research, and as far as we could see no-one else came close to Saks.”
The former independent salon joined the UK-wide network in January 2020, and the transition was seamless pointed out Gunner. “When you have a question or an issue, the team is on it. We met Saks salon owners at their conference in London in October 2019. A very welcoming bunch – we felt like part of a big family before we even opened!” he continued.
