Around 700 customers went through its doors and nearly 500 Cornish pasty’s were sold during Warrens Bakery Canterbury’s first few days of trading.

The franchise business opened on December 18 and is the second Warrens Bakery to open in Kent.

Other best sellers in the store’s first week included sausage rolls, cheese and bacon slices and tiger baps.

Carl Mortimer, franchise operations manager at Warrens Bakery, says: “We’re excited to bring Warrens Bakery to the historic city of Canterbury.

“It’s fantastic to rejuvenate what was an empty building into a new bakery, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere ready to welcome in the local community.

“The new Canterbury store joins our existing Ashford bakery in Kent, which opened last summer, and we are looking forward to opening many more stores across the region with our franchise partner, Slawomir Szulc, and his team.

“In fact, we are pleased to announce that later this month we will be opening another new bakery in Canterbury.”

Established in 1860, Warrens Bakery is the oldest bakery in Cornwall. The company has around 70 stores in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
