Budding entrepreneurs are taking advantage of a new initiative in Leicestershire to help achieve their ambitions of starting their own business.

Leicestershire Moneyline is a not-for-profit fund established through the support of the Leicestershire Economic Partnership, Social Enterprise East Midlands, LHA, Leicester City Council, EMDA, DTI, Royal Bank of Scotland and the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation designed to help people otherwise unable to secure finance to start up and develop their business ideas.

Since it started in December 2005, Moneyline has supported 15 new businesses with loans totalling over £60,000.

Says Moneyline manager, Lawrie Anthony: “Our clients have a diverse range of backgrounds and skill, but all have the enthusiasm and commitment to make their ideas succeed.”
