Existing and aspiring entrepreneurs keen to cash in on the success of one of the safest business models available should mark their diaries for Friday 20 and Saturday 21 March and attend The British & International Franchise Exhibition at Olympia, London.

Franchising - which offers the security of an established brand, proven business model and support network - is growing worldwide, and while not necessarily an easier option, involves less risk than other business ventures. The British & International Franchise Exhibition offers business-minded people the opportunity to explore the franchises available and investigate whether investing in a franchise is the right option for them.

“Franchising covers countless sectors, including many that are flourishing despite the economic downturn,” says David Tuck, Franchise Sales Manager at Venture Marketing Group, organisers of The British & International Franchise Exhibition.

“Food and beverage outlets, car repairers and management efficiency consultancies are amongst the industries reporting significant profits and even record-breaking business periods.”

McDonald’s, Agency Express, Energie Fitness Club and 0800 Handyman are some of the 100 local and international companies set to exhibit. They will be joined by legal advisors, bank representatives and industry experts, who will each share their knowledge and advice.

Atul Pathak, one of McDonald’s leading London franchisees and the event’s keynote speaker, will present ‘How to be innovative in franchising’ as part of the free Masterclass Seminars. Pathak, who owns 15 McDonald’s restaurants and is one of the brand’s top five UK franchisees, is set to share his experience as a franchisee of the world’s most famous franchise, and his tips for success.

A series of other free seminars will also be held throughout the two-day event hosted by both the British Franchise Association and franchise exhibitors. Topics include ‘An introduction to business-format franchising’, ‘Is your business ready to be franchised’, ‘An in-depth look at franchising’ and ‘In business for yourself but not by yourself’.

Visitors can also take advantage of specialised zones designed to meet various knowledge bases, interests and skillsets. Such areas include the Women in Franchising Zone, Franchise Starting Point, Find Your Franchise Zone and the International Zone.

The British & International Franchise Exhibition is held in conjunction with the Growing Your Own Business Conference & Exhibition, dedicated to equipping existing business owners with the knowledge and strategies needed to take their business to the next level.
