Led by qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, Jenine Butroid, aims to make professional therapies accessible through a range of affordable, quality services

Lincoln-based Supporting Minds has launched an innovative franchise opportunity to provide a range of professionally recognised training and counselling services that supports, empowers and values people across the UK. The venture, led by qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, Jenine Butroid, aims to make professional therapies accessible through a range of affordable, quality services.

Founded in 2014 by Jenine, Supporting Minds has grown rapidly over the years, training over 450 counsellors and supporting over 4,000 clients with its affordable, ethical therapy. Specialising in talking therapy, counselling is available to anyone from the age of four covering, but not limited to, bereavement, addiction, anxiety, depression, stress and relationship problems. The emerging brand is now projecting an explosive growth goal with the development of 130 franchises within six years.

“I truly believe that counselling and psychotherapy should be available to everyone, not just for resolving problems but also as a way of exploring who we are and encouraging individual responsibility and empowerment,” said Jenine. “Only by getting to the core of our being through self-exploration can real, lasting change occur. Only when we are free from the pressures and expectations of others and the challenges faced on a day-to-day basis, can we take back control and improve our emotional wellbeing. Money should never be an obstacle to healing, so by combining therapy services with therapist training, we can maximise our social impact.”

By expanding the Supporting Minds brand into franchising, franchisees will have a unique chance to get in on the ground level of a highly sought-after service and proven brand, which is scalable with strong profit potential. Launching in spring 2022 with six pilot franchise locations including Bradford, Cardiff, Croydon, Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield, franchisees will be able to deliver quality therapies for individual and group clients, accredited training to trainee therapists and award-winning workshops for schools.

Spearheading the brand’s expansion into franchising, Jenine has over a decade of experience in teaching and therapy, including professional qualifications in psychotherapy and nursing. Her career spans both the entrepreneurial, educational and medical landscapes. Prior to setting up Supporting Minds, she taught for three years at Lincoln College on health and social care and counselling courses was a lead counsellor at Riseholme College, where she was responsible for developing and maintaining a counselling service.

Supporting Minds is looking to partner with qualified and engaged individuals seeking single and multi-unit opportunities who are dedicated to their community, have a passion for emotional wellbeing and are hungry to dive into the world of business ownership. Franchisees should be qualified counsellors or psychotherapists or employ a qualified therapist to run the business. There is also the opportunity to train as a therapist and, once qualified, become a franchisee.

Franchisees will also enjoy the benefits of world-class training, along with business start-up and ongoing support. Interested individuals can expect an initial investment of £40,000 with a projected turnover of over £200,000 within the first year.

Supporting Minds adheres to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and National Counselling Society (NCS) ethical frameworks to ensure its business and practices remain safe and ethical.
