Oltco goes from two to 11 franchises in 12 months
A company that makes driveways out of plastic straws has expanded its franchise operation by 450 per cent in just one year.
Oltco, which specialises in installing sustainable resin driveways, started 2019 with two franchises in Cornwall and Blackpool. By the end of the year, this number had risen to 11.
The business now has a presence in Bath, Ipswich, Lancaster, Colchester, Northwich, Plymouth, Derby, Gloucester and Liverpool.

As well as the expansion of its franchise business, 2019 saw the launch of Oltco’s Recycle Bound, the world’s first recycled driveway solution, which is made with straws, drink bottles and food packaging already in circulation. Each square metre of Recycle Bound consists of the equivalent of 3,000 plastic straws.
Oltco founder and co-director Tom Stringer says: “Last year was an incredible 12 months for us. We won awards, installed hundreds of resin-bound driveways up and down the country and launched Recycle Bound. It was non-stop and brilliant
