6. Whitegates: The 40 offices within this brand are located from the Midlands to the North of England. This brand was an innovator and launched certain now standard features of the industry such as operating seven days a week.

The one option is to purchase a new franchise. The second is to purchase a resale / buy an existing franchise business. These factors mean income is generated from the first day.

How much will I need to invest?

The franchise fee itself is £18,500 + VAT. However, you will require in the region of £100,000 in total as you will also have office set-up or shop-fit costs and working capital requirements. Each of these is an estimated £15,000 of the full amount. It is recommended by the company that you invest 30 – 40 per cent of your own funds. The balance can be obtained through a bank loan or financing.

It’s important to remember that, unless you purchase an existing business – you need money to cover your normal, personal expenses as your franchise will not generate income immediately.

 Training: There is an induction programme, a shadowing / mentor period at an established office, on-the job training during your launch period, and training on the relevant technology and software. The company also offers an in-house training academy and webinars.

 Marketing: You will receive a marketing launch pack, a website, a brand recognition event for new launches, online and other advertising, and access to centralised digital marketing. Do I need property management experience to become a franchisee?
