Retailer is predicting a surge in spending following lockdown

Cash Converters stores in England are set to begin reopening from June 15, with extra safety precautions in place to protect customers and staff.

The franchised second-hand goods retailer has 196 outlets nationwide.

Every store will adhere to strict safety and preventative measures, including new signage and social distancing.

Peter Hall, UK CEO of Cash Converters, says: “We know our customers are as keen as we are to ensure we reopen quickly but safely and that has been an absolutely critical part of our work to get ready for a phased reopening.

“People rely on us being there for them, so we want to return to our local communities as soon as possible and once again offer the products and services our customers need.”

Once opened, Cash Converters stores are predicting a surge in retail spending following the lockdown, with bikes, musical instruments, laptops, phones and leisure equipment expected to sell fast in the first few weeks.

To coincide with the phased reopening of stores in England, Cash Converters’ webshop will also reopen from June 15 and be available to customers across the UK.

For now, the company’s stores in Scotland and Wales will remain closed until further guidance is received from the Scottish and Welsh governments.
