Seniors Helping Seniors launches in Windsor, Maidenhead and Bracknell

Seniors Helping Seniors has recruited its sixth UK franchisee.

Steve and Lynn Cowley opened their Windsor, Maidenhead and Bracknell business in September and join 300 Seniors Helping Seniors branches worldwide.

The company provides care for the elderly who need help to live at home. Care is provided exclusively by senior people with care experience.

Steve left his career in teaching to launch the franchise, while Lynn will retain her portfolio of managerial roles for other companies.

Steve says: “This was the kind of care we needed for my mother when we lived abroad.

“It was not available then. Once I found it, we bought the company!

“Championing paying the real living wage to carers is just one of the ways Seniors Helping Seniors is leading the way in elderly care.

“The pandemic brought care into focus and this service is just what families are looking for.

“The home-based operation appealed to me. The training and support is everything I expected it to be. I have a steady stream of clients and carers already and love feeling I’m doing something immensely worthwhile.”

Christian Wilse of Seniors Helping Seniors UK says: “Millions of people gain valuable care experience looking after loved ones every year.

“Seniors Helping Seniors offers those people, as well as professional carers who want to work more flexibly, an opportunity to utilise local experience working as companions.

“Peer-to-peer support maintains independence discretely and a flexible companion care role appeals to people in retirement because people want to be useful.”
