Majority of UK franchises are experiencing an extremely healthy level of advanced bookings, according to founder and managing director Rik Hellewell

Months of uncertainty surrounding international travel and a heightened awareness of hygiene during the pandemic has created a huge demand for the services of oven cleaning franchise Ovenu.

Founder and managing director Rik Hellewell (pictured) says the majority of its more than 120 UK franchises are experiencing an extremely healthy level of advanced bookings.

As a result, several franchisees have taken on subcontractors to cope with increased demand, while those launching in new territories have been able to hit the ground running.

Rik says: “Ever since the start of the year, Ovenu has seen a high demand for its services and there has been no let up.

“The months of uncertainty surrounding international holidays meant many opted for shorter staycations or weekends away, which meant they had more money to spend on the home and garden.

“Many people have also been spending more time in their homes, which has included a newfound love of home cooking and baking.

“As well as ovens being used much more regularly, the pandemic has contributed to a greater appreciation of the importance of hygiene.”

According to Rik, the summer months are normally less busy for Ovenu franchisees, as clients jet off to more exotic climes, but this summer has rivalled Christmas in terms of peak bookings.

He adds: “Our franchisees were also able to quickly instil confidence among their clients by following strict COVID secure procedures.

“Many of our franchises have had no let up in demand since Christmas, with many being booked up a month or more in advance.

“In addition to regular clients, our franchisees have also welcomed many new customers.

“The big question is whether this is a long-term trend or a temporary, pandemic inspired blip.

“I’m optimistic that the renewed interest and appreciation in home cooking and hygiene is something that’s here to stay.

“Ovenu has also been able to capitalise on the demand because it’s a trusted market leader, with additional business gained through personal recommendation.”

That was highlighted earlier this year, when more than 80 Ovenu franchisees were honoured by online review platform Trustist during its inaugural awards.

A total of 37 franchisees won a diamond accolade in the Trustist Top Performing Franchisee category, while 10 won gold, 17 silver and 18 bronze, all based on their excellent client reviews.
