Educational franchise Tutor Doctor is celebrating the arrival of five new franchisees this month, one of whom comes with an impressive CV.

David Boddy is the new owner of a Tutor Doctor franchise in London. As well as having had a prominent career in education over the last 30 years, he was press secretary to Margaret Thatcher during her time as Prime Minister.

David’s career highlights also include being headmaster of a senior boys’ school, chairman of the UK Society of Heads and, in 1999, founding the Lucca Leadership Trust for young community leaders.

A leader in his local education community, David saw Tutor Doctor as the ideal opportunity to expand the reach and impact of his services.

He explains: “I wanted to expand my education services business into the London area and a top quality franchise option was the fastest, and most certain, way to proceed.

“The values of Tutor Doctor completely accord with those of my own. I passionately believe in changing the direction of young people’s lives and as far as methodology is concerned, I’m totally committed to the holistic approach to education.

“Caring for the whole family, as well as the student, is absolutely vital.”

David and his fellow new recruits take Tutor Doctors’ rapidly expanding UK network to 70-strong.

Currently estimated to be worth £2 billion per year, the UK’s private tutoring market continues to expand.

Already topping the bill in Europe, the UK is also one of the top spenders on private tuition worldwide.
