Iconic Window Cleaning to franchise business with help of multi-brand franchisor

Franchise entrepreneur Darren Taylor, owner of Taylor Made Franchising, has agreed a partnership with a Surrey window cleaning company in order to help franchise the business.

Now part-owner of Iconic Window Cleaning, he will use his knowledge and experience to guide founder Andy Hiscock through the franchising process, with a view to recruiting three-four franchisees in their first year.

Andy, who worked in IT for over 10 years, started Iconic Window Cleaning in 2005.

He says: “I first got the idea watching my father do some part-time window cleaning, so when I left IT I set up the business, spending the first few months door knocking to get my first customers.

“15 years later and my partner Krystal Edwards has joined me in the business, helping with organisation and expansion.

“We now have two full-time staff and clean the windows of domestic and commercial properties across Farnham, Alton, Guildford, Godalming, Hindhead, Haslemere, Winchester and the surrounding areas.”

Explaining why he approached Darren to help him franchise the business, Andy says: “I’d been toying with the idea of franchising for many years, but was always so busy I never had the time to fully investigate it.

“While out in the van, I listened to podcasts that said ‘If you want to be successful, surround yourself with experts.’

“By going directly to Darren, I’m shortcutting the franchising process and putting an expert directly in my business. His knowledge of the sector is second to none and he has an experienced management team in place ready to help.

“Also, as a co-owner I know he is going to do his very best to develop it into a successful franchise operation. I’m really excited for the future and know the sky’s the limit with Darren’s help.”

Taylor Made Franchising owns Stumpbusters, PVC Vendo, Wilkins Chimney Sweep and Thomas Cleaning and has a joint network turnover of £7.6 million.

Darren says: “This is a new and exciting opportunity for everyone involved and my team are raring to go.

“Between us, we have many years of experience of the franchise sector, which we’re looking forward to sharing with Andy.

“Iconic Window Cleaning is the perfect example of a business ready to franchise.

“Andy built it from the ground up, he knows his product and service inside out and now he’s ready to expand. With our help, 2021 is going to be a great year for him.

“Going forwards we see this as a simplified way for other small business owners to franchise their businesses with our help and we would welcome enquiries from any other would-be franchisors.”
