Bio-Rite, a leading infection control company, has launched as a franchise
This new development will enable Bio-Rite’s quality service and standards to be offered by a select group of franchisees in strategic locations throughout the UK.
Alan Wright, managing director of Bio-Rite, says: “The health care decontamination sector has seen rapid growth in recent years. The challenges faced by health care providers is only set to continue, as they struggle to cope with the increasing threat from infections such as MRSA, C.difficile or norovirus.
“As a group, we have more than 40 years’ experience in infection control, providing tailored services to the NHS, local authorities and care and nursing homes.
“As well as area decontamination, we provide equipment recycling, which enables beds and mobility apparatus to be decontaminated safely and effectively. We also supply a mattress decontamination service that meets the needs of NHS hospitals, private clinics and nursing homes and complies with all infection control guidelines.
Products and services
Bio-Rite’s products and services include:
- A community care equipment decontamination service that treats over 250,000 items of health care equipment each year. This takes place at Bio-Rite’s facility in Alton, Hampshire, which has been awarded ISO9001 accreditation.
- A hydrogen peroxide decontamination chamber. This is able to decontaminate a range of community care medical equipment, as well as hospital beds and mattresses.
- An outsourced area decontamination service. With this service, the Bio-Rite team visits hospitals and care homes and uses the company’s innovative hydrogen peroxide vapour technology to decontaminate areas that are infected or are prone to infection.
This service was developed for and proven in over 40 NHS hospitals across the UK.

Increasing threat
Alan adds: “The challenge of infection control faced by the health care profession is only set to continue as staff struggle to cope with the increasing threat from common infections. We are now looking forward to welcoming potential franchisees to help us expand our established decontamination services throughout the UK.
“We believe the candidates who will become successful Bio-Rite franchisees will be self-motivated and get on well with people. Ideally, they will have management and sales experience.
