Brian Hubbard, who leads Blossom Home Care in Kent, explains what attracted him to the franchise, his journey to becoming a franchisee and his aspirations for the business

Having looked at franchise opportunities for years, Brian Hubbard realised home care was a market that would be resistant to trends and market forces.

And once he settled on an industry, it was just a case of deciding on a brand from the myriad of options. But after a great deal of thought and research, Brian was drawn to the Blossom Home Care model.

“What appealed was the glowing reviews, the size of the company, and the specific client demographic,” he explained. “It was clear to me that Blossom Home Care always has clients’ best interests as their No #1 priority – it’s not just a slogan or spin.”

Getting started as a franchisee

“My first contact regarding franchising with the company was with Esther, who is an absolutely perfect first voice to hear,” Brian added. “She was so helpful and her confidence in Blossom Home Care shone through.”

Brian says he was also “in awe” of co-founder John Leggott who took him from enquiry to contract signing.

“He was always available to talk through everything, answer my silly questions and any doubts I had were calmly dealt with,” explained Brian. “In particular, I enjoyed an enormous amount of help and direction in producing a business plan and cash flow forecast that would have otherwise been so far beyond me I would have quit if it were not for John.”

Now Brian feels “completely confident” in having a glowing future with Blossom Home Care. His territory will cover Canterbury and the east Kent area, with services beginning before the end of October.

The right company at the right time

“The main benefit of opening a Blossom Home Care franchise here is that, finally, a high-quality service provider has now entered the local market,” said Brian. “Potential clients now have the opportunity to experience the Blossom Home Care difference first-hand.”

He is convinced clients will continue with this essential service despite the financial uncertainty and fund it accordingly.

Brian added: “Despite the cost of living crisis swamping so many people currently, I feel that when it comes to individuals financing home care, there are simply no alternatives for the quality of service they will receive from my branch of Blossom Home Care.”

But Brian feels hopeful about the future.

“I have no doubt that my Blossom Home Care franchise is the right company, at the right time, in the right place,” he said. “It is now up to me to listen, learn and follow what John and Fiona have created in the North East and produce it in east Kent. And I cannot wait to get started.”
