Owners Mark and Rebecca Crosby make the case for investing in the UK's leading childcare franchise
1. You operate in a large, stable and growing marketplace
In 2016, the Department for Education calculated that demand for childcare in the UK would increase by 300,000 nursery places by 2020 - and we’ve seen that reflected in the strong demand for childcare places. Most of our nurseries have waiting lists through to 2020, with some parents booking in children before they have been born to guarantee a place.
2. A business for all the family
Monkey Puzzle is the definition of a family business. As a married couple with a young child, we started the business in order to create a legacy for our family. And we also see this with other franchisees. From married couples to a set of twins, family is at the core of all our nurseries.
3. Be part of a national brand
Monkey Puzzle’s brand is highly trusted and has an outstanding reputation for delivering high quality childcare. As a new franchisee, you’ll benefit from the reputation we have built over several decades.
4. No experience required
While staff are required to have passed the national vocational qualification in early years and childcare or be National Nursery Examination Board qualified or equivalent, many of our day nursery franchisees had no previous experience of the childcare sector. Our established system aims for prospective franchisees to be able to replicate the successful Monkey Puzzle formula easily.
5. Support every step of the way
Our dedicated head office team guides franchisees through the stages of finding a property, lease negotiation, internal building structure, equipment, staffing, training and marketing your business. Once your doors are open to parents, our operations team will be on hand for all your ongoing training requirements and Ofsted inspections.
6. Approved bank funding
Monkey Puzzle has established relationships with most high street banks, enabling franchisees to seek start-up funding from day one, as the banks know and trust our proven business model.
7. Training and development
It’s important franchisees and their employees are given the opportunity to gain the required qualifications and feel empowered in their jobs. Our bespoke franchisee training covers first aid for different age groups, compliance in the early years, safeguarding, school readiness, positive behaviour management and quality teaching and learning.
8. High success rate
For the past 20 years, close to 90 per cent of all UK franchisees reported profitability in the previous 12 months of trading. The model is proven and we work closely with you to make your business a success.
9. Adding your own stamp
Our franchisees own their businesses and, providing they follow the Monkey Puzzle system, are free to add their individual stamp to their nursery. All our franchisees have brought their own energy and enthusiasm to the role, creating a space for young children that reflects them and their personality.
10. It’s hugely rewarding
Ultimately, Monkey Puzzle works closely with parents, staff and Ofsted to deliver the highest quality childcare, providing unlimited opportunities to learn, develop and grow within a safe, secure and caring environment.
