Döner Shack, the Berlin street-food concept, recently launched its flagship site in Glasgow, which proved highly popular in just one week of trading

The fast-casual industry is the sweet spot in restaurants, providing the best of two worlds – speed and convenience combined with a good atmosphere. One franchise brand that is excelling in this space is Döner Shack, the Berlin street-food concept. It is rapidly gaining an impressive reputation as one of the leading organisations in the fast-casual restaurant sector by serving premium-quality products and ethically sourced ingredients with the appeal of something convenient.

A recipe for success

The brand launched its new Scottish flagship site in Glasgow and the restaurant has been hugely popular since it opened its doors. After one week of trading, the site saw record-breaking numbers with a footfall of over 2,500. More than 500 kebabs were also dished up over a four-hour period to celebrate the grand opening, with more than 1,900 people signed up for the free kebab giveaway. This success, which is echoed at every Döner Shack launch, demonstrates that the brand has all the ingredients to become the number-one kebab franchise worldwide.

This latest opening in Glasgow was a momentous occasion for Döner Shack co-founders, Sanjeev Sanghera and Laura Bruce. They are both originally from the area with 39 years of combined experience as restaurateurs. Laura said: “Glasgow will always be home to us and holds a special place in our hearts. It is our fourth location since we franchised in 2021, and we are incredibly proud to now open Döner Shack’s Scottish debut. We feel it is a perfect fit for our contemporary brand and distinctive menu.”

A service like no other

Döner Shack has become the benchmark for the fast-casual sector and a world-class franchise opportunity.

“Our strategy has always been to develop and invest in our operating model so that regardless of volume, we would retain our consistency and speed of service,” added Sanjeev. “We serve our customers at a lightning-quick speed – the average order times were sub seven minutes in Glasgow – even during peak times. It’s incredible!

“Our kitchen staff deserve huge credit for all their hard work to serve as many people as possible in such a short period, and it also shows the efficiency and speed of our streamlined kitchen operations. We’re now planning for an even bigger opening with our next restaurant in Baker Street, London, before the end of the year.”

A bright future ahead

The support the franchise has received since opening its restaurants in Leeds, Leicester, Manchester and Glasgow has been incredible, and they continue to delight their customers across the UK with their fresh-tasting, delicious and convenient food concept. With the aim to open up to 150 restaurants in the next five years, Döner Shack is also looking to increase its global footprint in 2023 and beyond.

To stand out among competitors, restaurants need to continue offering a great product range that is always consistent and fits the taste of any consumer. A Döner Shack franchise does exactly that. It is about excellent products, great service and inspiring people who want a long-term partnership with a thriving food franchise with ambitions. It is an opportunity not to be missed!
