With its first gym open in Edgware, three more in pre-sale and plans to open 10 more sites by the end of 2022, XCELERATE GYMS has its established rivals looking over their shoulders.

A family of XCELERATE GYM members from the Edgware branch won the Membership Achievement category at the 2021 National Fitness Awards, the biggest fitness awards in the UK.

The challenges faced by the Knight family were significant, but working together with their XCELERATE fitness coaches, their achievements are inspirational.

In 2020, dad, Dave was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and underwent major surgery, which resulted in loss of muscle strength and chronic fatigue. For mum, Christina, life has been tough as she battles numerous health conditions, including fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis.

Since joining XCELERATE, Dave has been able to return to work, thanks to bespoke programming and support from gym staff. Christina has also seen significant improvements in her overall fitness and wellbeing, following her own unique training programme and working closely with XCELERATE GYM coaches.

Together they had already achieved so much, but wanting to put their newfound fitness and confidence to the test, Dave and Christina successfully completed a 13-mile trek last summer, raising £3,000 for MacMillan Cancer Support.

With all four of their children regularly taking part in the gym’s X-NATION fitness, combat sports and karate classes, the Edgware branch is a hub of positivity for all the family, where they know they all have the help and support they need.

More branches open for pre-sale

Starting the year as it means to go on, XCELERATE GYMS’ second, third and fourth sites, Solihull, Forest Hill and Bicester, have entered the pre-sale phase, with openings planned for spring 2022.

As word spreads locally, the new sites have seen unprecedented interest.
