I’m one of Snap-on Tools’ rising stars

Adam Trowler is proof you don’t need experience to be a Snap-on man

Adam Trowler, 31, is everything you’d expect from a Snap-on man: hard-working, friendly and ambitious.

Since launching his franchise in Liverpool in October 2018, he’s established a profitable business that’s growing rapidly. Adam is living proof that you don’t need automotive experience to be a success with Snap-on.

Rising star

He says: “In the 18 months I’ve been running my franchise, I’ve achieved more than I could have ever imagined. It’s transformed my life. I’ve never owned a business and never worked in a sales environment, but here I am as one of Snap-on’s rising stars.”

Even as a young school leaver, Adam dreamt of following in his dad’s footsteps and being his own boss.

“I left school without many GCSEs and spent years just scraping by and feeling like just a number in various unfulfilling jobs,” Adam says. “I wanted to do something where the harder I worked the more there was to be gained. I saw an advert for Snap-on and had my very own light bulb moment.”

Snap-on is the world’s number one professional tool brand. Franchisees sell the most sought after tools in the industry and deliver outstanding customer service to technicians up and down the country.

The company’s business opportunity offers you the chance to be your own boss, while being supported by an elite team of industry specialists.

Career satisfaction

Once out on the road, Adam soon found his feet with his regular route of customers and the backof- house admin.

“It didn’t take long for me to feel that sense of career satisfaction I’d been missing for over 10 years,” he says. “A sign of how quickly the franchise took off was the fact I paid off my initial start-up loan in less than a year - six years before the final payment date.

“The support you get in terms of managing your finances is second to none and, as I’d never owned my own business before, that was invaluable. They even help you fund the franchise - what more could you ask for?”

Personal milestones

As a fully fledged entrepreneur, Adam is revelling in the professional and personal milestones he’s achieved with wife, Caroline, by his side.

“In 2019, we went on three holidays,” Adam says. “I work extremely hard to afford the time away from my business and I’m constantly striving for more and making every second count.

“I’m also about to invest in a property portfolio, which is something I’ve wanted to do for as long as I can remember. Thanks to my franchise, I’m living out what I once thought was a pipe dream.

“I’ve developed a thriving business and I’m now looking to employ an assistant. Once they’re settled in, I’ll be looking to invest in a second territory. I still can’t quite believe I’ve achieved all this, less than two years in. Not bad for a guy with no real automotive experience.”
