Smaller businesses are being offered the opportunity to boost business by competing with the big boys when it comes to media exposure – and help a worthy cause into the bargain.
Media relations consultant and former newspaper editor, Peter Richardson, has produced a CD that shows how companies can gain media exposure, one of the most effective means of generating new business.
And Richardson is donating £1 from every CD sold to the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre (MSRC) charity.
Richardson says: “I worked as a journalist on newspapers for 12 years and have run PJR Communications for 20 years. In that time I have worked with businesses large and small, from the likes of Unilever to one-man bands, as well as public sector organisations including the NHS and Business Link.
“Many businesses, particularly smaller ones, still don’t capitalise on positive exposure in the media in terms of generating extra business. Many more are put off by the perceived cost of using PR companies. This CD makes media relations affordable to everybody, whatever their budget.
“This CD explains, in easy to understand language, how the media works, how to recognise a story and how to write a story in a manner which the media will find suitable.
“Whilst the CD is primarily aimed at smaller businesses with limited budgets, it would also enlighten some larger companies as to how the media works and what is and isn’t acceptable in terms of stories.
“By the end of the CD, people should go away armed with all they need to become their own little Max Clifford.”
The CD costs £25 plus VAT and post and packing. For more information call 01206 843225.
