Businesses across England are being urged to review their ability to ride out the economic slowdown by taking advantage of Business Link’s free business health check.
The health check offers an impartial, objective assessment of business performance, identifying key strengths, prioritising areas for improvement and highlighting business opportunities. Available for any company regardless of size or sector, the health checks are tailored to focus on the specific needs and circumstances of each business.
The health checks can be performed over the phone, in workshops or one-to-one
with an experienced Business Link adviser. Businesses can also fill in an interactive questionnaire on the Business Link
website (www.businesslink.gov.uk/healthcheck) that helps to evaluate potential
problems they may face and suggest ways in which they can be resolved. Once completed, businesses are urged to make an appointment with a Business Link adviser for help in reviewing and prioritising the recommended actions to be taken.
Says Ganesh Selvarajah, from Business Link, who has experience of working with senior directors in a number of businesses: “Smart businesses review their performance regularly to look for early signs of any issues that will affect their profitability. The health checks are a really effective way of doing this. Clients find that they give them an excellent overview of the strengths they need to build on, as well as identifying potential problems.”
