GLOBAL DIRECT SELLER ENJOYS GROWTH IN IRELAND

Beauty business Oriflame saw sales leap 500 per cent during the 10 weeks since the middle of April and the number of consultants promoting the Swedish company’s products increase from 450 to 1,750.

It’s looking to recruit a further 2,500 consultants - 1,500 before the end of 2013 - including trainee managers to help with the continued expansion in the country.

Following Avon’s decision to pull out of the Republic of Ireland in April, around a quarter of its former consultants have chosen to join Oriflame.

“While other beauty companies have pulled out of Ireland, we have a strong commitment to the country and, despite difficult times, our growth figures show there continues to be a demand for first class products, developed at our research and development centre in Bray and sold by consultants at the heart of their communities,” Peter Sykes, Oriflame’s sales director for the UK and Ireland, says.
Yvonne Flavin, Oriflame’s regional manager for Ireland, has been with the company for 26 years.

She says: “Our success over the past few months shows the opportunities available for our Oriflame consultants, who we invest heavily in through training, innovation and brand building.

“I would encourage anyone who wants to work more flexibly and for themselves to think about becoming a consultant - you won’t look back.”
