The franchisee plans further cooperation with Sushi Shop in the London area
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has secured a new franchisee for AmRest and its expanding brand, Sushi Shop.
The established operator, with four popular cafes around London, has opened the first of his franchised Sushi Shops in Clapham.
Sushi Shop offers a chance to invest in a growing area of the market, with the support of a vastly experienced franchise partner.
Sushi Shop is the leading European chain of restaurants for premium sushi, sashimi and other Japanese specialties. The brand has successfully established an international network of company-operated and franchised stores across nine countries and has been part of AmRest, a leading European multi-brand restaurant operator with a portfolio of first-class brands across 23 countries, since 2018.
Predominantly a delivery and takeaway concept, sushi has proven remarkably resilient throughout the last three years. Sushi Shop is looking to build on this success by expanding in key regional UK cities with the support of the Christie & Co.
The brand offers opportunity for expansion in towns and cities throughout the UK, especially due to its limited hot food options, meaning the stores can operate in A1 (retail) space in most cases.
The ongoing Sushi Shop franchisee acquisition project is being led by Simon Chaplin, senior director for pubs, restaurants and franchise in Christie & Co’s hospitality team.
