Turtle Tots is an award-winning swimming programme that begins with aqua-natal yoga for mums-to-be and continues with child-centred baby and toddler swimming lessons. The company teaches over 13,000 babies a week across the UK and Ireland.

In 2019, Turtle Tots won the Approved Franchise Association’s prestigious Franchisor of the Year award.

The company looks for ambitious people who are passionate about the benefits of introducing children to swimming early and want to run a successful business with the support of a recognised and distinctive brand and a proven business model.

Franchisees do not need to have a swimming teaching qualification already, as Turtle Tots helps franchisees become qualified through the Swimming Teachers’ Association and its own world-class training course.

Franchises are currently available across the UK, including Brighton, Hertfordshire, Birmingham and West Midlands, Liverpool, Staffordshire, Peterborough, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Durham, Norwich, Ipswich, Oxford, Basingstoke and Newbury.

What type of training and support is provided to franchisees?

Turtle Tots works closely with the internationally recognised Swimming Teachers’ Association to ensure all its franchisees are trained to the highest standards possible - and the company’s teachers are amongst the most highly trained and qualified in the world.

The aquatic training involves shadowing lessons, then a five-day residential course and teaching assessed lessons to ensure all franchisees have the Turtle Tots magic!

In addition to aquatic training, every new franchisee attends two days of business training and is allocated a Support & Success Champion to mentor and help them launch and grow their business.

However, it doesn’t end there. Turtle Tots is committed to being at the forefront of the baby and toddler swimming industry and every franchisee and teacher with the requisite experience also completes the Swimming Teachers’ Association’s Level 3 Diploma in Baby & Pre School teaching.

This qualification expands knowledge by providing evidence from research done over the last two decades into child psychology and neuroscience, which has led to changing theories of how children learn.

Aside from all this, there is a strong focus on continued professional development and Turtle Tots holds annual Development Days for all franchisees.

How much does it cost to become a Turtle Tots franchisee?

Turtle Tots franchises cost £13,000 for one territory or £16,950 for two territories. Larger territories are also available. The franchise royalty is eight per cent of revenue and payable monthly.

What are the Turtle Tots franchise’s terms of agreement and renewal?

The franchise agreement term is three years and there is no renewal fee.

What’s the earnings potential of a Turtle Tots franchise?

When you grow to teach 100 babies over the course of your first year, you will earn around £20,000 net profit and be teaching five-seven hours a week. Established franchisees can expect to achieve a turnover of £100,000-£200,000 per year, with a healthy profit margin.
