Husse is a Swedish pet food brand established by Tom Eliasson in 1987, which produces and sells a wide range of affordable premium pet foods, accessories, health and hygiene products for dogs, cats and horses.
Currently one of the fastest growing pet food franchises in the UK, Husse (pronounced “hoo-say”) is the only pet brand with international success - operating in over 56 countries.
Husse UK has a 95 per cent customer retention rate and money back taste guarantee - a promise made by the company to demonstrate its confidence in the quality of its products. In addition, the company is believed to be the first European pet food company to be granted a DA licence to import into the United States.
Since its inception, this franchise has grown to more than 1,300 franchisees worldwide, delivering high-quality products to hundreds and thousands of loyal customers. The company has ambitious plans to extend its reach further in the UK.
Husse products are produced from independently verified, human-grade natural ingredients, while a 100 per cent ‘honest and sincere’ label policy provides customers with complete confidence and reassurance.
The company is an associate member of the British Franchise Association.
How does the Husse franchise model work?
England is divided into 200 franchise territories. Each territory has between 35,000 75,000 households and 17,000-37,000 pets and franchisees sell and deliver Husse products in their contracted, protected territory.
It is expected that Husse franchisees would live in or near to their territory. As part of the Husse team, franchisees order straight from the factory, ensuring they provide
customers with superior quality products at competitive prices.
Husse franchisees get exclusive rights to the brand, as well as a wide range of other pet products.
A master franchisee will be required to set up a small sales and administration office as well as a warehouse and grow their own team of distributors. The warehouse will double as a showroom to showcase Husse products, complete with the company colours. Franchisees have the flexibility to lease a red vehicle or purchase a quality used red vehicle at start up.
Master franchisees develop the franchise concept throughout an agreed territory, keeping a stock of Husse’s product range and recruiting a network of unit franchisees (also known as distributors) to build their own local business and client base.
Master franchisees then have the exclusive rights to supply distributors with Husse products as they build their own businesses using the brand’s franchise system.
What locations or territories is Husse looking to operate in?
As part of its ambitious growth strategy, Husse endeavours to attract franchisees to its network in all areas of the UK and Ireland.
Why is Husse a good investment?
There are many reasons for investing in Husse:
• Franchisees benefit from high-profit margins across a 350-product range
• The franchise is a flexible lifestyle business, meaning franchisees can focus on their own local area, work the hours they want and earn the income that suits them
• Based on a unique Scandinavian recipe that pets love, the product range includes food for all life stages of cats and dogs
• As well as offering nutritionally dense food that is less processed than the majority of popular pet foods, Husse also offers a convenient home delivery service at no extra
cost to the customer
• The company’s approach to customer service means it focuses on making things simple for customers, who do not have to travel to specialist shops to buy high quality
pet food or carry heavy bags. Customers can order online or by phone and arrange deliveries on a day that suits them
• There are various revenue streams. Husse’s range offers an additional revenue stream by targeting pet-related businesses such as breeders, kennels, catteries, groomers, trainers, etc
• Husse is rare in that it offers customers free samples before they decide to purchase any products. With the opportunity of meeting with the company’s pet nutritionist,
customers can get advice on their pet’s diet free of charge, which is an invaluable added extra and keeps customers returning, as well as encouraging word of mouth
