PetStay is a home-from-home dog-sitting service founded in 2005 in Yorkshire known as the “safe, secure and loving alternative to kennels”.

PetStay started when Carole Davy, the founder of the business, had to go away and could not find a safe alternative to kennels for her dogs. Once she opened PetStay, she expanded the business throughout Hull, Yorkshire, and Lincolnshire until 2012, when she decided to turn PetStay into a franchise business. PetStay will take your
dog’s details and match them with a carer in your area. PetStay carers work with only one household at a time, providing an exclusive service to your dog(s).

The Petstay franchise has steadily grown in the UK and now has over 42 franchised local branches nationwide. In 2018, PetStay cared for over 8,000 dogs throughout the UK. How does a PetStay franchise work?

With PetStay, you will have the opportunity to build a venture based on a successful business model where you can be your own boss. As a franchisee, you will be working from home and managing your own team of dedicated dog-carers. Your main duties will be to match your clients’ dogs to the perfect dog-carer within your team. You will be attending dog shows to promote your business, as well as visiting vets, groomers or rescue shelters to boost your local marketing and attract new business. You will interview new carers, to ensure you are working with the very best individuals. As a business owner, you will ensure your accounts are up to date, and always look for new ways to grow your business and reach more potential customers and carers in your local area.

Finally, if you decide to home board dogs yourself, you will have to walk them, play with them and ensure they have a lovely holiday - just like each one of your carers should.
