The British Chambers of Commerce has announced its support for a Government education and awareness campaign to help British business improve critical information and internet security.
Organised in partnership with the Central Sponsor for Information Assurance at the Cabinet Office, the BCC will run a series of seminars for small and medium-sized business members through chambers in the Accredited Chamber Network.
The programme consists of 12 seminars over six months in Liverpool, Portsmouth, Cambridge, Leeds, Lincolnshire, Essex, Manchester, Herfordshire, Nottingham, London, Suffolk and Edinburgh.
Called Keeping Your Business Safe Online, the seminars will cover issues such as the risks of computer viruses, preventing data theft, responding to security incidents and the benefits of sharing information on attacks.
Says BCCE managing director, John Dunsmure: “As our members increasingly depend on the performance of their computer systems, understanding how to protect against damaging downtime or malicious attack is critical. This seminar series with the CSIA will help our membership secure their businesses in the future.”
