X-Press Legal Services supplies a growing range of property related searches and risk reports to solicitors, licenced conveyancers and property developers

X-Press Legal Services, the successful property search franchise, is a family business. It was set up in 2000 and launched as a franchise in 2005.

It’s headed by Lynne Lister, a former editor of a national franchise magazine (pictured), together with husband Dave (pictured), who has extensive experience in the financial services sector, and their three children, Christian, Russell and Hannah.

Fast moving

A leading provider in the fast moving property sector, X-Press supplies a wide and growing range of property related searches and risk reports to solicitors, licenced conveyancers and property developers.

Now X-Press is seeking new franchisees who must be confident and share its vision for the future. Ideally, they should have sales, accountancy and/or management backgrounds and understand the need for meticulous attention to detail and providing reliable information.

Communication skills are also important, since a large part of a franchisee’s day is spent meeting clients and networking.

Dave says: “It’s true anyone can learn to be a franchisee, if they have the right approach, attitude and training. But it also helps to enjoy what you’re doing.

“Prospective franchisees must think about what they like, then investigate franchises requiring their specific skills. It’s always better to choose something you like because you will be working for an awfully long time.”

Over the years X-Press has invested heavily in new technology, imaginative marketing programmes and personal development opportunities to ensure the franchise offers franchisees the best possible support to provide optimum customer service to their clients.

As well as state of the art software and bespoke conveyancing platforms, X-Press has created a free legal information website for consumers nationwide.

Called www.lawplainandsimple.com, it explains in plain and easy to understand English the fundamentals of the law and its terminology and is promoted via Sky Sports Media.

It’s an effective and popular marketing tool for franchisees, whose clients enjoy valuable exposure on the site at no cost to themselves.

“Law Plain and Simple has enhanced awareness of our brand and we can communicate with different audiences to share news, keep up with trends and handle enquiries from prospects,” Dave says.

Personal development

Franchisees are great ambassadors for the X-Press brand. Recognising their valuable role, X-Press encourages personal development and supports individual efforts through a dedicated business and management college, accredited by The Institute of Leadership and Management.

“We’re proud of the X-Press Academy offering a wide range of courses with professional and vocational qualifications, which is open to all franchisees and their employees,” Dave explains.

“The most popular courses are directly business related, notably presentation skills and public speaking. Participants enthusiastically say they have gained much confidence and improved their communication skills.

“Investment of money, resources and time over the last decade demonstrates our commitment to the franchise. The result has been the creation of a strong and united network of loyal franchisees, with their continuing enthusiastic and dedicated commitment.

“We enjoy a reputation for high customer service standards, which are the cornerstone of our growth and success to date.”
