Betterclean Services have been offering commercial cleaning services to local businesses since 1995; in 2005 Dan van Kuyk, already an experienced franchise holder, purchased the business. At that time turnover was approximately £140,000 but with Dan at the helm, the business expanded rapidly over five years to employ over 100 staff with a turnover of around £750,000.

Innovative systems

The scheme guarantees to generate a minimum of £150,000 worth of business enquiries over the first year of operating. This enables franchisees to concentrate on building teams and reputation during the early stages of business growth. They will even attend initial appointments with new business owners so that franchisees can benefit from their experience.

The company’s online management system, BLISS (Betterclean Logistical Information Software System) provides complete business management, and enables franchisees to manage their business ‘on the go’, this combined with the ability to work from home, is credited with lowering operation costs, and increasing flexibility. Each franchisee territory has been designed to provide equal potential, and average net profit margins are in the region of 20%. Betterclean Services have one of the lowest management service fees in the industry at 5.75%; this contributes to a sustainable profit margin in a very competitive industry.
