Omar Al-Magribi has opened the first Jon Smith Subs shop in the UK in Hammersmith, London.
The chain, which was founded in Florida in 1988 and is part of multi-franchisor United Franchise Group, is known for its ‘fresh off the grill’ subs, large portions and non-processed food.
Omar says: “We were incredibly excited to have opened the first John Smith Subs in the UK and the response to our London restaurant has been overwhelming.
“Its instant success has meant we’re already planning our second restaurant, which we hope to open soon in Bournemouth, where my family is based.”
Omar used a six-figure finance facility from HSBC UK to fit-out the restaurant.
The shop currently employs 10 people, but Omar is in the process of hiring more staff due to its success.
