Bartercard reveals franchise opportunities and announces membership to the British Franchise Association (BFA)
Bartercard, the UK’s largest business-to-business trade exchange, has revealed fresh opportunities for entrepreneurs as it sets its sights on expanding its franchise network in the UK. The trade exchange, which was established in Australia in 1991, announced the renewed strategic focus as it revealed it is now a member of the British Franchise Association (BFA).
The 10-year growth plan will include 30 new franchises and over 10,000 new members to help grow and facilitate trading across the UK and Ireland. The business-to-business trade exchange is offering prospective franchisees access to a world class support structure including CRM and accounting, ongoing business and industry training, business networking opportunities and marketing support with all the tools necessary to build a thriving and successful business.
The announcement follows the recent success of new franchises set up in 2015 including brokerages in Milton Keynes and Salisbury. Significant growth has already been noted in these regions with the Salisbury brokerage reporting it’s already exceeded its goal of 100 new members in the region, eight months ahead of schedule. The brokerage has also confirmed it will be moving to a new central city location helping to further drive bartering opportunities for businesses in the region.
Philip Ciniglio, CEO at Bartercard UK, said ‘We’re delighted to announce our membership of the British Franchise Association, helping to further cement our role as the UK’s largest business-to-business trade exchange and expand new franchising opportunities to entrepreneurs across the country.
Our goal in the UK for 2015 is to grow our franchise network and member base, and towards the end of the year we will begin a concentrated effort to expand our operations throughout Europe ensuring our members have international opportunities on their doorstep. Bartercard is currently experiencing a period of significant change as we move forward with a renewed corporate strategy of ‘synergy’. We look forward to welcoming new franchise owners, and members, on board and expanding the role of bartering as a key tool in modern day business.”
Simon Bartholomew, chairman of the British Franchise Association, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Bartercard to membership of the BFA. As the UK’s only voluntary self-regulatory body for franchising we have very strict standards and criteria for membership based on a franchisor’s business systems, support structures and franchisee interactions. Bartercard, having satisfied this accreditation process, have shown a welcome commitment to ethical franchising and we look forward to them making the most of their membership as their network grows.”
Bartercard, the UK’s largest business trade exchange, gives businesses the ability to utilise their spare capacity, protect their cash flow and meet a group of likeminded peers to trade with through a well-established network of business entrepreneurs. By offering businesses an interest free line of credit, Bartercard also preserves valuable cash resources and facilitates trade at a time when traditional sources of funding are costly and much less available.
