Kyle Taylor (pictured), who has worked for A-Star Sports since 2011, has invested in one of the award winning company’s franchises.
The 24-year-old is taking charge of the children’s sports coaching specialist’s busy Northwich, Knutsford and Runcorn territory.
SWITCH
Kyle is the latest A-Star Sports employee to become his own boss.
Last year Callum Pettigrew switched from coaching to being in charge at the company’s thriving East and West Dunbartonshire franchise.
Kyle, who worked in retail before taking up sport as a vocation, says: “Sport was my favourite subject throughout school.
“It had a positive impact on my health, well-being and confidence.
“But it was only when I reached my twenties and found myself working in what was for me an uninspiring role in retail that I began to seriously look at turning my spare time hobby into a career.”
A friend of the family introduced Kyle to Gary and Sharon Bassett, co-founders of A-Star Sports.
He began to take part in some structured multisports classes, saw how rewarding it is to work with children and was offered a coaching post.
“Becoming a franchisee is the most logical step for me,” Kyle explains.
“I’ve seen first-hand how successful A-Star Sports franchises can be and the positive progression towards being a business owner and a creator of local jobs is a challenge that inspires me.”
INTEREST
He adds: “Families have expressed a high level of interest in my new area, are supporting me in sourcing a growing number of venues and I’ve already delivered dozens of parties.
“I believe parents will always invest in high quality activities for their children.”
A-Star Sports franchisees receive a comprehensive initial training package, as well as ongoing support, including help with finance, marketing, health and safety and human resources.
