What’s the advantage of investing in a British Franchise Association member franchise?
The British Franchise Association is the only voluntary self regulatory body for the UK franchise industry with a standards based approach to membership. This allows a potential franchisee to distinguish between those franchisors that have undergone the bfa’s accreditation process and have found to have reached certain standards in order to become members and those franchisors who have chosen not to follow this route.For a franchisor to become a member of the bfa, it must pass a strict accreditation process, which looks at all aspects of the franchise operation to make sure it is proven, protected, ethical, sustainable and free of ambiguity and misleading statements.There are different types of bfa membership and it is important you check the type of membership a bfa member has. Full members are established franchised businesses with a proven trading and franchising record. They are prepared to have their reputation examined by the bfa and have an established network of franchisees.Associate members have proven their ability to launch and support at least one franchised outlet for 12 months and are in the process of building their network. The franchisor will be investing in support and development and the business will have provided evidence of its ability to establish a solid network. Provisionally listed companies are at the beginning of their development in franchising,
