British Franchise Association announces new board

The appointments were announced at the bfa’s annual general meeting in London on December 11

Ruth Brown, director of business development at Home Instead Senior Care, joins the bfa as as a full board member, Lynne Newman, business development director at Fun Fest Holiday Club is the newly elected associate board member, while Suki Dehal, franchise development manager at Lloyds Bank, joins as affiliate board member.

The appointments were announced at the bfa’s annual general meeting in London on December 11.

The bfa is the voluntary self regulatory body for the UK franchise sector.

Chairman John Spencer says: “Thank you to everybody who stood for election and congratulations to those who have been newly elected. Franchising is growing more than ever before and this board will ensure it continues to thrive by working closely with the bfa.”

Continuing full board members
Steve Watson, Agency Express; Mike Graham, Chemex International; Ben Kirby, InXpress; Angie Coates, Monkey Music; Simon Bartholomew, Oscar Pet Foods; Mark Llewellyn, Revive! Auto Innovations; Ken Deary, Right at Home; David Paulson, TaxAssist Accountants; and Paul Thompson, Water Babies.

Re-elected full board members
John Spencer, NIC Services Group.

Elected full board members
Ruth Brown, Home Instead Senior Care.

Continuing association board member
Sarah Cressall, The Creation Station.

Elected associate board member
Lynne Newman, Fun Fest Holiday Club.

Re-elected affiliate board members
Shirley Hughes, The Franchising Centre; Roz Goldstein, Goldstein Legal.

Elected affiliate board member
Suki Dehal, Lloyds Bank.

Catharine Chalton of Home Instead Senior Care, David Padmore of McDonald’s Restaurants and Safwan Adam of CeX remain the franchisee representatives to the board of directors.
